HCIM students shine bright at Bitcamp 2019 hackathon
Three HCIM students - Jessica Yuan, James Chi, Talal Munzar and one MIM student, Alisha Gonsalves shined bright at Bitcamp 2019 Hackathon and were awarded Best App or Site for Investment Advisor Rep Report - FINRA after developing "BrokerHunt" in 36 hours!
BrokerHunt used a dataset from FINRA and created a personalized experience for investors to explore brokers based on their needs, check if their current brokers are registered/licensed and have the ability compare 2 brokers / broker firms with information that aims to aid their decision making.

Bitcamp 2019 is a Major League Hacking (MLH) sponsored hackathon held at the Xfinity center at the University of Maryland last April 12 to 14. Bitcamp is attended by 1,200 campers every year. This year sponsors like FINRA, Capital One, Bloomberg, Paypal among others raised different hacking challenges and awarded $15,705 in prizes.
