Jenny Hottle Receives HCIM Project/Paper Award Prize!

April 13, 2017

Jenny Hottle has won the inaugural HCIM Paper/Project Prize for her capstone project "Storytime: An Interactive, Digital Book App for Young Readers." Using Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll as a case study, Storytime explores ways of turning a classic children's book into an interactive experience for young readers.

On hearing the award news Jenny stated, "What a wonderful surprise! I am so honored to have my capstone project selected as HCIM Best Student Project/Paper Award. I very much want to pursue a career in ed tech and to design delightful digital experiences for kids. This award suggests that maybe I’m on the right track." Jenny also took a moment to thank Brenna McNally, Leyla Norooz, and the Kidsteam group, saying, "I want to thank [Kidsteam for working with me] over the past few months and for suggesting such awesome design ideas."

She will be given the award by Dean Keith Marzullo at the iSchool's Spring 2017 commencement ceremony on Monday, May 22nd. You can learn more about Storytime and see some of the screens on Jenny's website:

Congratulations, Jenny!
