Upcoming Events Around Campus

October 18, 2016

The fall semester is in full swing. In between your classwork, social life, and work, you may want to squeeze a few of these upcoming events into your schedule:

Technica

When: November 5-6, 2016

Where: College Park, MD

What is it?

Technica is the University of Maryland's all-women hackathon. Over the duration of 24 hours, women are immersed in tech culture and encouraged to exercise their imagination to create interesting and innovative hacks. Technica is diverging from the typical hackathon as we encourage gender diversification, and ask sponsors to hack alongside students in order to build stronger connections between students, sponsors, and the tech world.

Diversity in Computing Summit

When: November 7, 2016

Where: Chesapeake Ballroom, College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, Hyattsville, MD

What is it?

This summit is the inaugural Diversity in Computing Summit hosted by Maryland Center for Women in Computing, a one-day workshop designed for all advocates of underrepresented groups in computing fields. Through informative workshops and dynamic speakers, we will emphasize inclusive computing--efforts that address the positive impact that underrepresented groups have and will continue to have on the future of technology.
