What brought you to UMD?
What project is taking up most of your time at the moment? Can you tell us a little about it?
I have several projects currently underway, including the use of live video for storytelling about data, supporting fragmented and progressive analysis of data, and identifying the gaps in the fields of data science and visualization. All of these projects deal with ways of making this data more accessible, understandable, and actionable.
What do you find most challenging about working at the iSchool?
The multidisciplinary and diverse backgrounds of our students is both an amazing opportunity as well as a significant challenge.
What's your favorite place on campus? Why?
I like Kermit's and Jim Henson's bench by STAMP; Kermit was always my favorite muppet.
