Division of Information Technology, Learning Technology Design seeks a creative and motivated individual to provide assistance with Web and multimedia-related design and development projects. The successful candidate will use web page design development skills to produce web-based content for ATI Learning Technology Design, as well assist instructional designers and technologists in their support of instructors who wish to produce higher-end web-based content. Similarly, the candidate will use digital multimedia (video, audio, and design) production skills to produce media. This area of responsibility includes providing technical support for some Adobe Creative Suite Design tools for instructional support personnel.

Dr. Adam Porter (Computer Science) and the Fraunhofer Center for Experimental Software Engineering (CESE). Selected GRAs will under Dr. Porter and with Fraunhofer staff to conduct applied research in the topic areas of cybersecurity, autonomy, machine learning, model based engineering, simulation, and testing.

The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of theory, but also wants to get their hands dirty applying that theory to real problems. Candidates should be available to work 20 hours per week during fall and spring sessions and can elect to increase their work to 40 hours per week during the winter and summer sessions.

Duties

  •  Research, develop, document, and present software and systems engineering tools and techniques

  • Contribute to mission-critical projects and systems in fields such as aerospace, automotive and medical devices

  • Create and analyze models, simulations, and tools to solve customer systems and software engineering problems

  • Collect, validate, and analyze data


Requirements and Qualifications
        • Enrollment in a UMD graduate program, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering
        • Strong programming and problem solving skills

Graduate Assistant_Technology Services Assistant

Brief Description

The Technology Services Graduate Assistant will work directly with the Assistant Director of Technology Services to design, implement and evaluate the Content management system and various websites. Individual will be working closely with Stamp Student Union staff and other units on campus. The Graduate Assistant will gain experience in program coordination, marketing, web design, training, and project management. In addition, as a member of Technology Services, the Graduate Assistant will attend departmental meetings and retreats; will represent the Stamp Student Union Technology Services at various Stamp Student Union and Student Affairs functions; will collaborate on campus-wide programs sponsored by the office; will prepare semester reports for staff on assigned projects; and will post 20 hours per week.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution and admission to theUMCP Graduate School required. Familiarity with any of the following Adobe development tools: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and/or Fireworks. Experience with programming languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, .Net, JavaScript, and/or C#. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Perform other related duties as assigned. Must meet UMD guidelines to hold assistantship.

Brief Description

Amazon is changing the way people pay. We are developing a new product that will allow a customer to use his or her Amazon account to check-in, share preferences, pay, and track purchases and rewards at merchants all across the globe.

You will be the leader of a design team that will invent and define how customers will pay in the 21st century. You will define the Pay with Amazon experience across the web, mobile, TV, Echo, and in-store. To do this, you’ll define the ethos of our experience and create a UX team that can execute and apply it at scale.

This role will be a key leader on our product team and a peer to the head of product management. He or she will influence product strategy, organize our UX standards, mentor our design staff, create a usability research practice, and lead product prototyping and UX design work for the department.
